VGA to YPbPr Adapter (Component / Composite)

15,90 (excl. VAT)

This adapter allows the connection of your system to a CRT TV or a modern TV with component input. This allows the FPGA to provide the same video signal as the original system. Includes SOG (Sync on Green) circuit, so you can use also with direct video (HDMI to VGA adapters).

The composite video may need special cores to work (now implemented in the official distribution). Alternatively, you can download here these cores.

Configuration Mister.ini:

  • ;ypbpr=0 ; set to 1 for YPbPr on VGA output. (obsolete. see vga_mode)
  • vga_mode=ypbpr ; supported modes: rgb, ypbpr, svideo, cvbs. rgb is default.

Description

  • YPbPr is commonly referred to as component video by manufacturers. YPbPr is a color space used in video electronics, in particular in reference to component video cables. YPbPr is gamma corrected YCbCr color space (it is not analog YUV that was used for analog TV, though component video is an analog interface); the two are numerically equivalent but YPbPr is designed for use in analog systems while YCbCr is intended for digital video. The EOTF (gamma correction) may be different from common sRGB EOTF and BT.1886 EOTF. Sync is carried on the Y channel and is a bi-level sync signal, however, in HD formats a tri-level sync is used and is typically carried on all channels.
  • Composite video is an analog video format. A yellow RCA connector is typically used for composite video. Composite video is also referred to as SD video for the standard-definition television signal it conveys.
